Have you ever wondered how a vaccine is developed safely? Take a look at this phase chart. As you can see it is a pretty lengthy process. This shows the phase of each step for the creation of the COVID vaccine. Research for any vaccine is a lengthy process. The government wants to rush the development of the vaccine, people want the vaccine and fast. But the reality is, that we must not rush the research that is required to make this vaccine effective and safe. It takes years to find new side effects of a vaccine. It is important that we don’t rush the vaccine and give ample time because we do not want to repeat the Cutter Incident. If you want to learn more about this, please visit my other posts to find out what the Cutter Incident is. #letsdothis #coronavirusvaccine #vaccinesafetyadvocate

CALL FOR ACTION!!! In order for the FDA to license a vaccine it has to be safe and effective and the benefits must outweigh the risks. That means they need to test vaccines. The production and distribution of a vaccine require an immense amount of equipment, staff, and supplies.Due to limited resources, the testing of the vaccine can be prolonged, and the distribution will have to be strategically planned to ensure it is available to everyone. At the peak of the virus, testing was limited and was not as easily accessible as it is now that numbers are going down. The federal coronavirus funds have been slow to reach public health departments and many health departments are so overwhelmed with the current costs of the pandemic such as testing and contact tracing that they can’t reserve money for the vaccine work to come. An immense amount of equipment, staff, and supplies are needed. Due to limited resources, the testing of the vaccine can be prolonged, and the distribution will have to be strategically planned to ensure it is available to everyone. Let’s pledge to help in what we can to make this vaccine work!!! Here is a link where you can donate: https://www.fredhutch.org/en/ways-to-give/support-our-science/coronavirus-research.html

This picture represents a consequence of not doing the proper research and administration of a vaccine. What you’re seeing are people and children in a device that is used to breathe for the patient, leaving them helpless. Efforts were made to keep them alive due to the carelessness of the live polio virus within the vaccine. Negligence of patience and funds for the research of the coronavirus vaccine could cause irreversible mistakes like the Cutter Incident. People confided in the vaccine that was created for polio, yet they did not anticipate well enough the side effects of this vaccine. Due to the negligence of the side effects, the polio vaccine created contained a live poliovirus and was administered to the public causing millions of children to be sick and paralyzed, in iron lungs. Let’s make sure this vaccine is given the proper resources to succeed and ensure safety! #callforaction #safety #research
